Paul's Thighs

My husband is currently a gentleman of leisure, so you can expect to see quite a lot more of his cooking over the next while. He seems to think I am some sort of territorial lioness in my kitchen (I mean our kitchen, sweety!) so he needs to defeat me by stealth and cunning and cook before I get home from work.

He has been perfecting this chicken stirfry for years now. It is so delicious!

You fry the living hell out of chicken thigh fillets in a small splash of oil. Then you add some chopped garlic, some mushrooms and when the garlic is starting to brown you add quite a lot of soy sauce and reduce it really quickly to a glaze. I think reduced sodium soy would be the way forward, but we only have your basic Kikkoman.

So good! We had some frozen veg cooked in the pan juices, but a bit of steamed rice and gai larn would be a fantastic accompaniment.

The chicken looks so good--what a great color and it sounds easy too. This one (and Paul too) looks like a keeper!

I am the queen of my kitchen...although I have a roommate who would probably say otherwise.

That looks so tasty - tell Paul that I think he has nice thighs!

WTF? This was scheduled to post on Tuesday!

Kat - it is amazing that with no honey or anything they get such a deep glaze.

Deb - he's pretty good!

Esi - I am glad I am not the only territorial one.

Natashya - I will do!

I love the title 'Paul's Thighs'. It just cracked me up thinking it was about your husbands legs.
Fondue with wild mushrooms, mmm, perhaps this winter.
I am always green with envy that you are from Australia and live in the UK. I am from the US and live in the US. Boring. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice place but there is a whole world to see and I am looking at smog.
This stir fry sounds wonderful and how great to have a husband who likes to cook. I don't pick those kinds of husbands, I pick the kind who do nothing. Give me tips.

Seems like you guys make a good team. In my house, I'm the savory and my wife is the sweet, kinda like our personalities.

I love a good stir-fry. Always looking for new ways to heat up my wok.

We are never full - thanks! It really is the best way with stirfries.

Amber - he is pretty good!

Mr Orph - you sound like a pretty good team too.

Love the headline :) Jules is a stealth cook too. I come from a meeting and the bread's rising, stew is bubbling and the man sheepish. Aren't they great?

You are so sexy, you territorial lioness. The thigh is my favorite part of the chicken. Best of both worlds (tenderness and flavor)

Grace - he sure does! Hoping to get another look at them tonight ;)

Dee - Paul doesn't go quite that far! But I came home to a lovely spag bol last night.

Heather - why thank you! I totally agree about thighs; so much more succulent and so much more flavour.
