First Barbecue of Spring 2010

It's a couple of weeks later than last year, but I hereby launch the 2010 barbecue season. May the gods bless your coals and guide your tongs.

I love to visit here. I'm going to have to stop by more often. You've motivated me to fire up the grill. Have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary

Quelle chance vous avez.
En France, nous n'avons pas encore le printemps.

We just had our first BBQ this year - just using one of those disposable one-use jobbies. I did the BBQ while Pete drug trenches and planted the early crop seed potatoes.

Thanks for your comments on my blog today. Glad to hear you'll be able to grow more of your own this year!

OMG, that looks so good!

Cheers,

Rosa

Kavey - those little disposable ones are great. Paul wants them for fishing!

Rosa - it was lovely! A nice wing rib.

Last time I was in London I saw my brother use a disposable BBQ to grill some tuna steaks! What a revelation that was! I always hated the cleaning afterwards and there you just dump it without any further ado!

Saw your profile on another page. Glad I took the time to read your informative and well-written blog. Look forward to following you here. Have a great night. Cheers!

All these people posting about their first BBQ of the year are making me very jealous - oh for a bit of outdoor space!

That is a mighty looking barbeque. Unfortunately our season for BBQs is nearing its end...(somewhat appropriately my word verification is "coalin")

Alicia Foodycat said...

ToB - fortunately my husband considers cleaning the barbecue to be man's work, so I never have to do it!

Lazaro - thanks for dropping by!

Deb - I think these things deserve a certain amount of ceremony!

Gourmet Chick - maybe there is a park where you could get out one of the portable ones?

Laura - oh well, there is always next spring!

That looks great Foodycat. This really is the time of year that I miss not having a garden.

Now spring is really here. Sounds fantastic.

Alicia Foodycat said...

Figtree - thank you!

Jennifer - we really are very lucky to have so much outdoor space. I don't know where we'd be without the barbecue!

Joanne - yup! Sunshine, daffodils, the works!

I hope you have many bbq's this summer!
