Heather's recent
Swedish meatballs with nutmeg gravy inspired me. I used turkey mince - because I'd bought some and couldn't remember why - and did a mushroom sauce with half beef stock, half milk for extra savouriness. It was good. Would have been better with some parsley.

Yum! I have Swedish meatballs in the freezer from Ikea & I;m craving them now
mmmm. swedish meatballs sound very good!
It's almost worth going to Ikea, Kat!
Heather - they were! Although I am not sure about using turkey for them in future.
These sound really good, I am going to save this recipe.
These sound so good! I've never made swedish meatballs, but I definitely need to try it soon!
Esi - if you can't buy them from Ikea, you should make them!
Sara - I don't know how Swedish they are really, but they are good!
Love me a serving a Swedish meatballs.
Hey, thanks for the nod, Alicia! I'm guessing that using turkey instead of beef/pork means I could eat these at least a couple times a week without getting too husky. And by "husky" I mean fat-assed.
I have been totally craving Swedish meatballs lately and was thinking of making them. You have convinced me!
Peter - they were pretty popular here, too!
Heather - my theory is that the half stock/half milk gravy reduces the calorie count, too.
Deb - I think there is definitely something in the air for meatballs!
Got to love Swedish meatballs. And the nutmeg makes all the difference.
Are we talking about Heather's ass again?
