Happy Blogoversary To Me!

I don't think I ever considered blog longevity when I started. But then, I don't think it ever crossed my mind that anyone would read my posts. So here we are, seven years down the track and I am still enjoying myself and people are still popping by to see what I am eating.

To celebrate the occasion, I have made Mary Berry's cherry cake - the first technical challenge from this year's Great British Bake Off. It's also one of the desserts Paul claims to quite like, so he's happy to take it into the office to save me from eating it myself. For added bragging-rights, those are home-made glacé cherries. Yup. Home-made glacé cherries. What a faff. And someone's sure to complain because they aren't bright red.

I'm not going to swear that I will still be doing this in another seven years, but here's hoping! And thank you very much to the people who continue to come and visit.

ETA I have just noticed that this is also my 900th post. Well I never!

Nice. Your icing is much whiter than mjne. I think MB would be pleased :)

I'm impressed - as much by the home-made glacé cherries as the cake, I think. Did the cherries in the cake stay well-distributed?

Miss Whiplash - thanks! I thought she might complain it was *too* thick!

Suelle - there was a bare patch on one side that looked cherry-free, but aside from that they were evenly distributed and stayed suspended.

7 years is awesome! I hope my blog lasts at least that long, too. Here's to many more happy, delicious years!
