Recipes, trying new local ingredients, occasional reviews and always enjoying my food.
Looks suspiciously like a marble cake? I expect to be corrected!
I'm watching!
I want a sneak peek of the inside too!
Such a tease...I'm impressed by zebra cakes though - I've tried and my mixtures merged into one. I call it a horse cake when that happens....
So cool! I've always wanted to try this but it seems all the instructions I can find are in German or want to use packaged cake or are generally not enough instruction for someone nervous like me :)
Anon - similar concept, but in stripes not marble squiggles.Steve - it'll be about 3 weeks, so you are allowed to go about your business.Suelle - because of the loaf tin, the inside layers weren't as even as they looked on the surface.C - this is the BeRo choc cake http://www.be-ro.com/recipe/showrec77.html?forumid=477655 with all the cocoa added to half the batter.Laura - I used this http://bakingbites.com/2008/07/zebra-cake/ method.
Very fun--can't wait to see more. ;-)
I like cake and I like zebras -- yum :-). I'm housesitting and don't know how to turn the ancient gas oven on without losing my eyebrows, so not much cooking from me for a couple of weeks.
