It's a couple of weeks later than last year, but I hereby launch the 2010 barbecue season. May the gods bless your coals and guide your tongs.

  9. We just had our first BBQ this year - just using one of those disposable one-use jobbies. I did the BBQ while Pete drug trenches and planted the early crop seed potatoes.

Thanks for your comments on my blog today. Glad to hear you'll be able to grow more of your own this year!

  11. Kavey - those little disposable ones are great. Paul wants them for fishing!

Rosa - it was lovely! A nice wing rib.

  12. Last time I was in London I saw my brother use a disposable BBQ to grill some tuna steaks! What a revelation that was! I always hated the cleaning afterwards and there you just dump it without any further ado!

  16. That is a mighty looking barbeque. Unfortunately our season for BBQs is nearing its end...(somewhat appropriately my word verification is "coalin")

  17. ToB - fortunately my husband considers cleaning the barbecue to be man's work, so I never have to do it!

Lazaro - thanks for dropping by!

Deb - I think these things deserve a certain amount of ceremony!

Gourmet Chick - maybe there is a park where you could get out one of the portable ones?

Laura - oh well, there is always next spring!

  20. Figtree - thank you!

Jennifer - we really are very lucky to have so much outdoor space. I don't know where we'd be without the barbecue!
